Meet Dr. Nate Waara

Dr. Nate began practicing professionally in Upstate New York and most recently practiced in Colorado, where he co-owned a multi-disciplinary clinic.

Originally from New York, he graduated in 2019 from what is now the Northeast College of Health Sciences (formerly New York Chiropractic College), after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from SUNY Brockport. While at Brockport, he also earned his NASM Personal Training Certification and began a research internship at New York Chiropractic College. His research work continued through chiropractic school and culminated in a presentation at the World Federation of Chiropractic research conference in Berlin, Germany.

While practicing in Colorado, Dr. Nate earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification - the highest level of credentialing in the field - allowing him to combine advanced strength training expertise with chiropractic care. He uses this background to guide patients in continuing their healing and performance gains beyond the clinic.

Dr. Nate and his wife made the move to Maui to be closer to family in upcountry Haiku. Having visited the island annually for years, Dr. Nate culminated a deep connection with the island that felt like home. Looking to start a family and bring their skills to the Maui community, they decided to make Maui home and open their practice here.

Meet Dr. Waara

Dr. Waara is a dual-licensed chiropractor and acupuncturist in the State of Hawaii. After practicing for just over five years in Colorado, she and her husband moved to Maui not only to be closer to family but also to start their vision that is Motiv Integrative Health. It is their goal to share their skills and passion for holistic care with the Maui community.

Dr. Waara’s practice primarily consists of Sports Medicine Acupuncture and dry needling alongside targeted chiropractic care. She is excited to support local families, athletes, and anyone looking to improve how their body feels. Her treatments help people manage musculoskeletal pain and injuries, supporting recovery from minor strains to post-surgical care. She also enjoys supporting individuals with stress, anxiety, and labor preparation through acupuncture, as well as promoting overall wellness through both chiropractic and acupuncture care.

As a Webster Chiropractic Technique certified practitioner, Dr. Waara is comfortable providing safe, effective care for expecting mothers and keiki, helping families feel their best at every stage of life.~
